Oil rig data acquisition
This oil-rig monitoring system tracks in real time the vibration of drilling heads and shafts to ensure optimum drilling performance. It uses laser and ultrasonic beams to check alignment and is linked wirelessly to the local station and via satellite to a remote control centre.
Injector controller
This unit provides a complete control and testing station for injector analysis and development. A number of injectors are simultaneously driven in different configurations and environmental conditions and a fuzzy-logic engine is used to recognise performance patterns in real time.
Engine control unit
This unit controls up two 6 cylinders of 4-stroke racing engines. It adjusts the timing in real time according to a number of parameters including air temperature, pressure and speed. Multiple engine-maps can also be loaded by the user and dynamically selected in real time.
ECU tuning unit
Connected to the engine in the test room, this tuning unit is used to create seven-dimensional maps for performance and racing engines. The maps are correlated in real time with inputs from a number of sensors and displayed on multiple touch-screen displays.
Passenger information system
This system relays public transport information in real time. Vehicles location, time to arrival, route map and a lot more are relayed via both audio and video. Dynamic adverts can also be loaded remotely and electro-mechanical sub-systems controlled through a GPRS link.
End-of-line configurator
This unit uses a graphical interface to access and configure ECUs at the end-of-line in the manufacturing plant. The unit can program various ECUs as well as read their configuration data and store it on a memory card to replicate the setting on other units.
Ionisation monitor
We developed this unit as part of a research project to investigate a new method for ionization measurement and induction inside the combustion chamber of petrol engines. It works by monitoring the electric and magnetic field inside the chamber itself and adjusting the pulse-driving current.
Multi-spark CDI
This Multi-spark unit uses CDI technology's fast charging time to generate multiple sparks within the same combustion cycle. This unit was especially designed to improve cold-start ability of the standard ECUs and lower CO2 emissions.
