Innovation Stream Ltd is a growing product design consultancy specializing on New Technology & Innovative Product Development. We focus on high-tech consumer, medical and industrial markets developing products ranging from home automation systems to scanners and from electrical vehicles control systems to cameras. Due to an increasing number of new projects the company is looking to fill multiple roles related with product design, electronics and software development. IMPORTANT: Innovation is at the core of all of our projects so demonstrated lateral thinking abilities coupled with proven technical engineering/design skills are essential for this position.

Description:
We are looking to for a talented, self-driven industrial designer with at least 4 years of experience. You will be part of a fast paced multidisciplinary team, designing consumer and industrial products from concept to production and you will get the chance to get involved in the entire life cycle of a product. You must be able to generate innovative ideas and communicate them clearly across the team and clients, take control of the project and see it to completion with minimum supervision. As Innovation Stream offers full services and not just styling we are looking for individuals with engineering background, knowledge of manufacturing processes with emphasis in injection moulding and the ability to comprehend new technology and see through technical difficulties. The ideal candidate must be a competent CAD user (preferably Solidworks) with surface modelling and rendering experience.

Essential skills and qualifications:
Engineering Degree (1st or 2:1) in Product Design, Industrial Design or Engineering Design. Strong creative thinking. Organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Strong knowledge of materials (their properties and applications), industrial design processes (mould design) and of manufacturing processes (injection molding etc). Strong experience in “design for assembly” and “design for manufacture”. Very strong knowledge of Solidworks and Photoview 360. Ideally experience in FEA. Able to work as part of a team or unsupervised. Experience liaising with clients and manufacturers. Must have portfolio with clear demonstration of design methodology.

Duties:
Applying your excellent innovative problem solving skills to develop or clients product range. Design enclosures and mechanisms for technology, consumer, medical and industrial products. Draft specifications, design and develop complete products. Draft test specification and design test systems to ensure the products meet the specifications. Design and implementation of test equipment for the products you designed. Keep up to date with research and industry best practices. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
